July 31, 12:00pm - 1:00pmMānoa Campus, 1601 East-West Road, John A. Burns Hall, Room 3121/3125 (3rd floor)
Trillions of dollars are needed annually to meet global goals for sustainable development and the Paris Climate Accords. In light of these global commitments, policy makers and investors are struggling to integrate climate financing strategies at the scale commensurate with the opportunity. This discussion will focus on practical approaches in finance, policy and entrepreneurship to accelerate integrated investment solutions. Participants will gain an understanding of the green finance landscape, as well as concrete examples of solutions that fall across various investor interests along the risk-return spectrum. Katie Hoffman is a financial innovator, development strategist and entrepreneur. Katie is Co-Founder and CEO of Resco, LLC, a firm that accelerates social and environmental investment opportunities. In 2014, Katie played an integral role in passing policies that influenced the University of California, CalPERs and CalSTRs to shift billions of dollars toward sustainable investment. Katie elevates conversations across generations related to the future of finance. She has organized private investor recommendations for the UNFCCC at COP21 and COP22, and serves as one of the youngest board trustees at the American Renewable Energy Institute.
