Resilience in the Undergraduate Pre-Medical Path-Hawaiian World View

The Honors Mentor Resilience Series is envisioned as a "whole student approach", in terms of building personal resilience along the Undergraduate academic pathway. Open to all UHM Undergraduates and those interested in the areas of resilience, emotional intelligence, and cognitive development. In this presentation the focus is the Pre-Medical pathway, with a strong focus on Hawaiian culture and worldview. Kumu Hula Bradford Kaiwi Lum will open with a Hawaiian blessing and grounding in the Hawaiian World View. Dr. Aimee Grace, M.D. Director of Health Science Policy for the UH System and graduate of the John A. Burns School of Medicine, Kimberly Yamauchi, Program Assistant for the JABSOM ‘Imi Ho‘ola Post-Baccalaureate Program, and third year JABSOM medical student Kadee-Kalia Tamashiro will share about resilience, persistence, access, and praxis in the medical and health sciences field, especially in terms of the Hawaiian world view.
