April 1, 12:00pm - 1:15pm
Mānoa Campus, Zoom Add to Calendar

Today, film and filmmaking is more accessible than ever before. As the generation that grew up alongside technology and media comes of age, many seek--and struggle--to find a voice and tell their own story through film. Join local youth filmmakers Inez Anderson and Jessie Hearther as they recount their own experiences as storytellers and filmmakers in a new age of entertainment. Inez Anderson and Jessie Hearther are youth filmmakers who have been working together since they met at a Hawai’i Women in Filmmaking camp in 2018. Their work focuses on a range of prevalent social issues including intersectional feminism, gun control, and LGBT+ rights. Inez and Jessie plan to continue social justice advocacy through filmmaking after highschool and throughout the rest of their lives.
