Painter YAMAMOTO Tarō presents a workshop on the use of East Asian mineral pigments. He is one of six artists highlighted in the exhibition "Imayō: Japan's New Traditionists" on view at The Art Gallery at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa (Oct. 2 – Dec. 2, 2016) and at the Honolulu Museum of Art (Oct. 13, 2016 – Jan. 9, 2017).

YAMAMOTO Tarō embraces the traditional Rimpa style of Japanese painting, creating allusions that link pre-twentieth century themes and motifs with references to contemporary Japan and its visual, social, and popular culture.
