Remembering Her Majesty: A performance benefitting Native Hawaiian scholarship

Hawaii's beloved Queen LiliÊ»uokalani passed from this earth on November 11, 1917. Yet her life, her reign and her creative genius remain powerful symbols and lessons for our lÄhui today. In recognition of this centennial, Hawai‘inuiÄkea School of Hawaiian Knowledge is hosting HoÊ»ohÄliÊ»aliÊ»a: Remembering Her Majesty, a special performance of mele, hula and haÊ»i Ê»Ålelo at Kennedy theatre on Saturday October 7, 2017.
All proceeds from this event will go to scholarships for Native Hawaiian students at the University of HawaiÊ»i MÄnoa.
The following artists and hÄlau have joined together for this occasion: Manu Boyd and HÄlau o ke ‘A‘aliÊ»i KÅ« Makani; Nola Nahulu, the Honolulu Youth Opera Chorus and the HawaiÊ»i Opera Chorus; HÄlau ka LÄ Ê»ÅŒnohi Mai o HaÊ»ehaÊ»e; and Vicky Holt Takamine and HÄlau Pua AliÊ»i Ê»Ilima.
General admission is $50. VIP seating is $120, and includes a hosted reception at 5:30pm, a keepsake program, and preferred seating.
Doors open at 6:30. Performances begin at 7:00 pm.
