The Center for Korean Studies is pleased to present the inaugural Drs. Sung Chul Yang and Daisy Lee Yang Lecture. The lecture will be delivered by the distinguished scholar of modern Korean politics and history Chong-Sik Lee. Lee, who is emeritus professor of political science at the University of Pennsylvania, will discuss the ideological foundations of the North Korean state. Marxism having been declared obsolete by Kim Jong Il, what is the ideological basis of North Korea under his successor today?
