Currently in Japan, challenges in teacher leadership have become a national concern. A little less than 10,000 teachers annually are absent from work due to depression and school refusal, often complicated by not undergoing necessary treatment and medication. The Department of Educational Foundations and International & Special Programs at the College of Education (COE) will be hosting a brownbag seminar by Mr. Bin Terashima from Kobe University. Mr. Terashima will share findings through his research and work to discuss implications and possible solutions.

Mr. Terashima is a lecturer for the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) training project at Kobe University, serving ministry of education officers from Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. He is also a Visiting Lecturer at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. Mr. Terashima was the Senior Supervisor (inspector) at the Board of Education in Nara Prefecture as well as the Vice Principal of Nara High School.TO RESERVE A SPOT please click on the link below to go to the COE event page, where you will find the RSVP link.
