National Shark Awareness Day at the Waikiki Aquarium
July 14, 10:00am - 1:00pmMānoa Campus, Waikiki Aquarium
Visit the Waikiki Aquarium on International Shark Awareness Day for free and family friendly educational activities inspired by these majestic marine creatures. Like any top predators in an ecosystem, sharks play a vital role in keeping our oceans healthy and productive, and the Aquarium is celebrating these animals with activities including shark origami, displays of real shark jaws, and “Hawaiian Sharks & Rays,” a community art project featuring six-foot long coloring posters.
Hard Rock Café joins in on the fun with the launch of a limited-edition pin that will raise funds for the Friends of the Waikiki Aquarium (FOWA). The new shark pin is available for purchase at the Hard Rock Café Honolulu Rock Shop for $14, with a percentage of the proceeds benefiting FOWA.
