Walang Rape sa Bontok Screening & Conversation with Filmmakers
March 13, 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Mānoa Campus, The Art Gallery, Art Building
Join filmmaker and History PhD candidate, Adrian Alarilla, for a film screening and collective conversation around independent film Walang Rape sa Bontok (Bontok, Rapeless) by Habi Collective followed by a virtual conversation with filmmakers, Carla Ocampo & Lester Valle. Adrian will touch on the film’s themes of indigenous lifeways in the Cordillera mountains of the Philippines, feminism, colonialism, and environmental histories.
Pag+mul+mula+an, or “Place of Plants”, is a learning environment, a metaphorical garden space for the reclamation of ancestral knowledge and the generation of new ways of knowing. Join us in the Art Gallery from March 8-April 9, 2020 for various events exploring plants and language.
