Academic Development and Technology (ADT)

Academic Development and Technology (ADT) is a small software development department working in concert with Information Technology Services (ITS) who develop the STAR GPS-Registration system (https://www.star.hawaii.edu/studentinterface/) and other academic technologies. STAR GPS-Registration is a tool used throughout the UH System to help students register for courses and stay on track by directing them down a clear, transparent degree pathway. It allows students to track their progress towards graduation and check their degree requirements. STAR enables students to further explore and make better-informed decisions towards their education. In addition to developing the STAR registration system for all 10 campuses, ADT continues to develop technology that prioritizes the student. Other ADT software includes:
Instructor Support App
STAR Balance
Student Support Hub
GPS Dashboard
Predictive Course Analytics
Hybrid 2 to 4 Pathways
Priority Waitlist
Automatic Admissions
Auto Certificate
Reverse Transfer
Giving Tree and Student Scholarship Web Application
