Choreographing/researching heterotopia: (dis/re)located places and lived temporalities with Dr. Suparna Banerjee

Contemporary Bharatanatyam practitioners in Britain have utilized disparate city places and objects, either physically or through digital technology to create new spatio-temporal aesthetics. This lecture will discuss Michel Foucault’s conceptualization of ‘heterotopia’ and examine how relationships among these fleeting places in contemporary dances fit in with his conceptualization.
