Learn how to navigate the academic job market!
The Graduate Student Sociological Association (GSSA) presents a workshop with UH alumni, Dr. Karen Kelsky, from the popular site TheProfessorIsIn.com. Dr. Kelsky has 15 years experience as an assistant professor, tenured associate professor, and department head in two major research universities, the University of Oregon and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has a wealth of knowledge and will be teaching students and untenured faculty how to navigate the rough seas of the academic world. Come join us for an informative workshop if you are a graduate student, future graduate student, or past graduate student looking to join the job market! The event is free and open to anyone interested! Dr. Kelsky's book The Professor Is In: The Essential Guide to Turning your PhD into a Job will be available for purchase at the event from the University of Hawaii Bookstore.
This event was made possible by the generous support from the Anthropology Department and SAPFB.
