PiÃ±a-Seda: Pineapple and Silk Cloth from the Tropics
This lecture and workshops will introduce participants to the PiÃ±a (Pineapple) and Seda (Silk) weaving and embroidery tradition of the Philippines. It will include demonstrations as well as workshops for those who are interested in learning how to weave and embroider using pineapple fiber and silk. Workshop kits will be distributed to those who RSVP at firstname.lastname@example.org for the lecture while supplies last.
About the Speakers: Dr. Ana Maria Theresa P. Labrador, Assistant Director, Chief Curator, and Head of Collections Management, National Museum of the Philippines. Featuring Kalibo, Aklan PiÃ±a-Seda Weavers and Lumban, Laguna PiÃ±a-Seda embroiderers of the Philippines.
