Aloha and Resiliency Amid COVID-19 and Beyond

With Diane Paloma, Micah Kane, James Koshiba, & Naia Lewis. Participants will learn how to: Examine how COVID-19 became an impetus for the integration of efforts on behavioral health and homelessness for vulnerable populations using an initiative in the state of Hawaii called the Behavioral Health and Homelessness Statewide Unified Response Group (BHHSURG).

Examine how previous cross-sectoral efforts through the Hawaii Opioid Initiative provided a platform to develop the current BHHSURG and the role of cross-sector stakeholders and partners in operating the initiative to improve service to vulnerable populations.

Review strategies, progress, and outcomes made in serving vulnerable populations through the initiative that began in February 2020 in response to COVID-19 as well as opportunities for collaboration.
