GSO Sustainability Series: Makena Coffman

Join GSO for a presentation and discussion with the Director for the University of Hawaii Institute for Sustainability and Resilience. Makena Coffman is the Director for the University of Hawaii at Manoa Institute for Sustainability and Resilience. She is a Professor of Urban and Regional Planning and teaches a graduate seminar in climate change across the Asia/Pacific Region. Her research interests include climate change policy, including greenhouse gas mitigation, alternative transportation strategies, and climate adaptation. She is a Research Fellow with the University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization, holds a B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She currently serves on the City and County of Honolulu Climate Change Commission.
