Getting Past the Trigger: Learning How to Navigate Misinformation with Grace

Speaker: Meera Garud, Instructor, UH Mānoa Library & Information Science. This session focuses on the connection between the spread of misinformation and social-emotional awareness. Participants will be able to identify personal triggers, understand how triggers affect critical thinking and reasoning, and use social-emotional learning strategies to practice mindfulness when faced with personal triggers. Meera Garud is an instructor with the Library & Information Science (LIS) program at UH Mānoa and coordinates the school library preparation program. She earned her MLISc from UH Mānoa and BA from UC Berkeley.
