For the second year in a row, the University of Hawaiʻi has been named one of Hawaiʻi’s best employers by Forbes. UH placed 9th in the annual rankings, released on August 24. The university system employs approximately 9,000 people statewide across its 10 campuses.

  3. Hawaiian Telcom
  4. Hilton
  5. American Savings Bank
  6. Servco
  7. Hyatt Hotels

  9. University of Hawaiʻi
  10. BAYADA Home Health Care

Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to compile their list. Statista surveyed 70,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 500 employees. The respondents rated their employers on safety of work environment, competitiveness of compensation, opportunities for advancement and openness to telecommuting and asked how likely they would recommend their employer to others. The final list ranks the 1,382 employers that received the most recommendations.

Hawaii Business Magazine’s Top 250

UH was also 7th in the Hawaii Business Magazine’s annual rankings of the top 250 companies in Hawaiʻi in the publication’s August 2022 print edition.

Hawaii Business Magazine ranks the top 250 companies and nonprofit groups by gross sales or gross revenue. The magazine surveys the companies in its database and gathers updated information. Companies headquartered in Hawaiʻi report sales from all their subsidiaries worldwide; those based elsewhere report Hawaiʻi figures only.
