Leeward Discovery Fair full of family fun

two boys playing with gooLeeward Community College is hosting its annual Discovery Fair on Saturday, November 5, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. The family oriented day on the Pearl City campus includes hands-on learning activities, food booths, great entertainment and plant giveaways and sales. Admission is free and there’s lots of free parking.

Highlights

  • Quicksand Goo—A mysterious glob that is both a liquid and a solid
  • CSI Leeward—A mock crime scene investigation
  • Bug City—Build your own bug and get a close-up look at creepy crawlers
  • Bones—A forensic puzzle waiting to be solved
  • Spaghetti Engineering—Build structures and bridges with food
  • Instant Snow—Make snow magically appear
  • Chemistry Magic—Freeze a flower or shrink a balloon with liquid nitrogen
