M R C Greenwood

The Girl Scouts of Hawaiʻi pays tribute this year to three extraordinary women who understand the power of “global thinking.” Among the 2011 honorees of the organization’s annual Woman of Distinction Dinner is University of Hawaiʻi President M.R.C. Greenwood.

The awards honor Hawaiʻi women leaders who are making the world a better place. Greenwood is honored along with Karen Chang, board chair of Hawaiʻi Pacific Health, and Sharon Weiner, vice president of global communications and government relations for DFS Group and a UH Mānoa alumna and former UH regent. All three are recognized for demonstrating through their daily work the type of leadership that girls believe in—being a person who uses personal principles, ethical behavior and abilities and skills to affect positive social change in the world.
