Katsushige Nakahashi, born in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan in 1955, holds a BFA from Tokyo Zokei University, 1979. He received the Silver Prize in the Osaka Triennale, 1995; Excellence Prize in The Sculpture Competition, Hyogo, 1987; and the Grand Prize in the Kobe Figurative Sculpture Grand Prize Exhibition, 1981. Nakahashi has presented his Zero Projects at Kodama Gallery, Osaka, 2003; Cowra, Australia, 2002; and Osaka Contemporary Art Center, 1998; and their documentation at the Sherry Frumkin Gallery, Santa Monica, 2005, and Kodama Gallery, Tokyo, 2004. His Zero Project was featured in Murakami Takashi's traveling exhibition Super Flat, PARCO Gallery, Tokyo, 2000; MOCA Los Angeles; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; and Henry Art Gallery, Seattle, 2001. His work was included in Confronting Tradition: Contemporary Art from Kyoto, Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts, 2004; Collapsing Histories, Daigo Fukuryu Maru Exhibition Hall, Tokyo, 2004, and the University of California, Santa Cruz, 2003; and Beyond the Future: The Third Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane, Australia, 1999.
