This info-table would give students a chance to talk one on one with a Forest Service recruiter offering Federal temporary seasonal Land Management positions in disciplines like silviculture, engineering, wildlife biology, and fire.

These jobs are very well suited to students. The field season is their off of school time and it allows them to work full-time all summer and save money for school while gaining valuable skills. While these positions are seasonal, the experience gained can lead to a career working for the great outdoors and serving the American people.

Information Session
Queen Liliuokalani Center for Student Services Building – Room 208
4:00 pm – 5:00 pm

This will be an hour long presentation about federal land management positions. Topics will include: Navigating USAjobs.gov, the federal government’s centralized hiring website, types of employment, job duties, and qualifications. These jobs are very well suited to students. The field season is their off of school time and it allows them to work full-time all summer and save money for school while gaining valuable skills. Many of these positions are seasonal, but the experience gained can lead to a career working for the great outdoors and serving the American people.

Additionally there will be information about the Smokejumpers, elite wildland firefighters who parachute into backcountry blazes.
