
Twenty-five participants from seven Hawaiʻi banks completed the first Universal Banker training program. This sector partnership brought together the University of Hawaiʻi and Hawaiʻi Bankers Association to address the changes needed in the banking and financial workforce.

Windward Community College produced the curriculum for the four-week training that was delivered using a blended learning model, integrating face-to-face and online environments that is student-centered. Topics covered included banking products, banking ethics, business communications skills, and customer service in banking specific to Hawaiʻi.
