Izabella Martinez became the third University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Rainbow Wahine softball player in program history to receive Big West Defensive Player of the Year honors. She was also named to the All-Big West First Team as a catcher.

Five other Rainbow Wahine softball players earned all All-Big West honors:

  • Jamie McGaughey, first base and third base, All-Big West Second Team
  • Milan Ah Yat, utility, Big West honorable mention
  • Chloe Borges, pitcher and outfielder, Big West honorable mention
  • Macy Brandl, pitcher, Big West honorable mention
  • Larissa Goshi, outfielder, Big West honorable mention

The Rainbow Wahine now head to the Big West Championship as a No. 5 seed and will open the double elimination tournament against No. 4 seed Long Beach State on May 7.
