3 UH Hilo tennis players earn academic honors

Jaime Paquet earned the recognition for the second straight year alongside first-time honorees Iori Furuhata and Victoria Ricaurte-Cabas.

The group included repeat honorees Amanda Turner and Erik Anderson, while four Rainbow Warriors earned the recognition for the first time.

The four set victory marks the Rainbow Warriors’ third national championship in program history, all in the past five years.

UH Mānoa’s Ofeck Hazan was recognized with the award for holding the highest cumulative GPA in the men’s volleyball NCAA Championship.

This marks his second consecutive Big West Conference Pitcher of the Week award and third of the season.

The Rainbow Warriors defeated Long Beach State in four sets to advance to the NCAA men’s volleyball championship match.

Blake Saucedo was recognized for leading the Vulcans to a victory over HPU with a complete-game shutout.

Led by first-team honorees Tread Rosenthal and Louis Sakanoko, it’s the second straight year five Rainbow Warriors earned AVCA honors.

UH Mānoa’s seven All-Big West selections are the most for the Rainbow Wahine since 2017.

UH Mānoa’s Tread Rosenthal is one of four finalists for the AVCA Men’s Collegiate Player of the Year Award.
