2 pairs of beach volleyball players

The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa women’s beach volleyball duos have garnered AVCA honors, with spots on the All-American teams and Top Flight honors. Jaime Santer and Alana Embry, secured second-team honors, while two pairs clinched spots on the AVCA Top Flight Award winners’ list: duo of Sydney Amiatu and Riley Wagoner and duo Anna Maidment and Sydney Miller.

The All-American team duo Santer and Embry became the 13th and 14th All-Americans, respectively, in program history. The duo have won a team-best 24 matches this year and boast more than a half dozen wins over ranked squads.

Amiatau and Wagoner earned Top Flight status at the No. 4 flight for the first time. The duo has played 27 of their 34 matches at the No. 4 court where they have gone a stellar 21-6 (.778).

Maidment and Miller gained Top Flight status at No. 5 flight. They won 80% of their matches this season (16-4). Since then the duo have climbed to the No. 3 spot and have still maintained the team’s best overall win percentage (22-7, .759).

The Top Flight honors recognize excellence in beach volleyball from all over the country and across all flights. For a pair to be eligible for the award, the two athletes must compete in at least 15 matches together at a specific flight number and win 75% of their matches at that flight.
