University of Hawaiʻi President David Lassner delivered his monthly report to the Board of Regents on December 16. Lassner started with the latest on the COVID-19 pandemic as UH campuses prepare to reopen in January 2022. He called on students and employees to get vaccinated, get the COVID-19 booster and to continue practicing COVID-19 prevention efforts, including wearing face masks and avoiding crowds.

Lassner also provided updates on the status of UH priorities in the proposed state budget for the 2022 legislative session and a successful Leeward Community College accelerated online degree program. He also explained UH’s role in the ongoing response to the Red Hill water crisis.
