5 U H Manoa women golfers

A school record, five University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa women golfers were selected to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association’s All-American Scholar Team.

The five honorees—senior Hana Mirnik and freshmen Ting-Yu Liu, Hyeonji Kang, Mayumi Umezu and Momo Sugiyama—are the most in a single-season in program history. Mirnik earned her fourth selection—twice as a Rainbow Wahine and twice at Wichita State, where she competed prior to transferring to UH Mānoa.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.5 with a total of 1,485 women’s collegiate golfers earning the prestigious recognition in 2021–22.

This is the fourth consecutive year and eighth time in the last 10 years that at least one Rainbow Wahine was named to the All-American Scholar Team.
