The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa women’s basketball team will take aim at the largest attendance figure of head coach Laura Beeman’s tenure when the Rainbow Wahine host Beeman’s Big Bash on February 17, at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
In the midst of a Big West title chase, the 2014–15 Rainbow Wahine played their home finale before a crowd of 4,340 in Beeman’s third year leading the program.
This season’s Rainbow Wahine squad will look to surpass that mark when they face UC Santa Barbara in a rematch of the 2023 Big West Championship game.
The back-to-back Big West champions have seen their attendance numbers rise over the last two seasons, but the Wahine want to make a statement alongside their fans when they welcome in the Gauchos for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
“I tell our players all the time when you win, the fans will come, and our arena is the best place to be,” said head coach Laura Beeman. “I’ve seen this place when we’ve had a nice crowd, and I want this team to see it; they’ve earned it, and I want this place rocking on February 17.”
Fans can also expect other activities before and during the game. Those will be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets for Beeman’s Big Bash are on sale now for $7 for adults and $5 for senior citizens. All keiki (ages 4 through HS) are free. Purchase tickets online.
