One hundred fifteen University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Vulcans were honored for excellence in the classroom at the university’s seventh annual reception on April 8.
The Vulcans were recognized for maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher through the fall 2024 semester, showcasing their commitment to excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
Mason Cook, a junior catcher on the Vulcans baseball team with a 4.0 GPA, was chosen as the scholar-athlete speaker for the event. Colby Miyose, UH Hilo assistant professor of communication, was recognized with the Vulcans Faculty Appreciation Award for his contributions to the academic community.
