UH golfer competes amongst world’s top pros at Waiʻalae CC

Blaze Akana carded eight birdies over two rounds in the Sony Open.

UH Hilo men’s golfer Keith Ng finished at a tie for No. 5 at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate.

The UH Mānoa men’s golf team concluded with an 858 total for the tournament and a tie for 15th place.

UH Mānoa women’s golfer Mayumi Umezu finished the tournament at 4-under 212 for the best finish of her collegiate career.

UH Mānoa golfers Atsuya Oishi, Blaze Akana and Tyler Ogawa finished in the top 20.

Sophomore Mayumi Umezu posted a final round 1-over 73 to finish at 1-over 217 for the tournament and a tie for 18th place.

The UH Hilo women’s and men’s golf teams finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the SMU Bishop Invitational.

University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo men’s golf is the first Pacific West Conference Team of the Week.
