Kunnert and Shimizu score Pepsi athlete honors

UH Hilo Vulcan basketball players Max Kunnert and Sara Shimizu are this week’s Pepsi athletes.

Women’s volleyball player Brooke Van Sickle earned AVCA All-America honorable mention honors for the first time in her collegiate career.

UH Hilo Vulcan basketball players Mandi Kawaha and Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones are Pepsi Athletes of the week.

UH's season ends with a 22-8 record.

UH was led by sophomore middle blocker and Big West first team selection Amber Igiede with 18 kills hitting .500, and five blocks.

The UH Mānoa football team will meet the University of Memphis.

Brooke Van Sickle was named the Big West Conference Player of the Year and Robyn Ah Mow earned Coach of the Year.

Basketball players Nikki Miller and Darren Williams are the UH Hilo Pepsi Athletes of the Week.

Chevan Cordeiro andMatthew Shipley were named the Mountain West Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week.

The team will be heading to Seattle, Wash. for the 2021 NCAA Tournament’s first and second rounds.
