On March 17, the City and County of Honolulu Department of Customer Services announced a 90-day automatic extension to driver licenses expiring in March, April, May and June. According to the announcement:
"The extension applies to all valid O‘ahu driver licenses, learner permits and identification cards. Late fees will not be assessed during this period for those qualifying for the extension. The fee waiver does not apply to licenses that have already expired."
This measure is in response to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations for safeguarding public health during the COVID-19 pandemic.
