DHS Extends TPS Re-registration Periods for El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua and Sudan to 18 Months

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced re-registration periods for beneficiaries of TPS status for several countries.

For more information please see the official U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Alerts.

TPS can be granted when conditions in a country temporarily prevent that country’s nationals from returning safely. Depending on the situation students granted TPS may be granted benefits such as travel authorization or employment authorization.

This re-registration applies only to those already considered TPS beneficiaries to apply for re-registration of their TPS status.

For those interested in TPS it is recommended that you speak with an immigration attorney of your choice for any questions. Counseling and Legal Resources are available on the ISS website.
