DHS Publishes Federal Register Notice Announcing the Extensions of Re-Registration Periods for Temporary Protected Status for El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua and Sudan

On December 14, 2023 the Department of Homeland Security published a Federal Register notice reiterating the extension of the period for re-registration for beneficiaries of TPS status for the countries of El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua and Sudan.

For more information please see the official U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Alerts.

TPS can be granted when conditions in a country temporarily prevent that country’s nationals from returning safely. Depending on the situation students granted TPS may be granted benefits such as travel authorization or employment authorization.

This re-registration applies only to those already considered TPS beneficiaries who wish to apply for re-registration of their TPS status.

For those interested in TPS, it is recommended that you speak with an immigration attorney of your choice with any related questions. Counseling and Legal Resources are available on the ISS website.
