This seminar deals with issues and approaches in second language teacher education and
development (SLTED). The goals are to familiarize students with the major themes, topics, and
approaches and to prepare them to design and critique teacher education and development
projects.
We will focus on issues concerned with initial second and foreign language (L2) teacher
education (e.g., degree or certificate programs) and with in-service L2 teacher development (e.g.,
workshops, conferences).
